September 2010 Newsletter
September 1st 2010
Well it's back to school time again. I feel this is the beginning of the new Taekwon-Do season and we would like to welcome all new students and those coming back from a summer break. This looks to be an exciting fall with lots of opportunities for students new and old.
Below are the upcoming events in the month of September:
Closures:
For Labor Day weekend both locations will be closed on Friday Sept. 3rd, Saturday Sept. 4th and Monday Sept. 6th.
Class changes:
As of September 7th we will be operating on our regular yearly class schedule. Please refer to the website for the changes in class times. There is also a class list on the bulletin boards of both locations.
Summer Camps:
We would like to thank all the parents and participants in our summer camps. Everyone was on their best behavior and made teaching the camps a great pleasure. Well done.
Tournaments and Seminars:
On September 18th Mackenzie Taekwon-Do will be hosting a pattern seminar with Master Laquerre. All details are at the schools and please sign up ASAP, as space is limited.
October 23rd Master Downey will be holding the annual Rumble on the Rock tournament in Newfoundland. I encourage all students to consider this one, as it's a lot of fun and very well run. We look forward to seeing our friends in Newfoundland.
On November 12,13 the ITF National Championship will be held in Vancouver, BC.
Information and signup sheets are available on the bulletin boards in both schools.
Tournament Training:
This class is a must for students wishing to improve their skills in the areas of technical development and sparring. What a great way for students to prepare for upcoming tournament competitions. This class is on Friday nights from 8:15-9:15pm. Beginning September 10th with sparring.
Hiltz Taekwon-Do Face book Group:
We are pleased to invite all students, parents, and friends of Hiltz Taekwon-Do to join our new face book group. This is a great way for you to stay informed of all events, important club issues, schedule or time changes, and cancellations, ECT. Feel free to share club photos, videos, as well as any questions, comments or concerns about Taekwon-Do you might have.
Testing this month:
There will be a testing for all levels at the Halifax school on Thursday, September 30th starting at 6pm.
Testing in Sackville will be Friday, October 1st starting at 5pm.
As always we appreciate your support and look forward to many years of training together.
Lets all make 2010 a great Taekwon-Do year.
Yours truly,
David Hiltz, ITF 6th Dan
